SAT Test scores are mandatory for application; the essay part of SAT is not required. The applicant should have a minimum aggregate score of 1070 (out of a maximum of 1600) in SAT. Super scores in SAT are accepted, i.e. If you’re taking multiple standardized tests, we will be considering only the highest score from each section. All the test scores must be reported directly to IIITH by the college board and the scores should reach IIITH on or before 31st May 2026. Applicant should have written the SAT test not earlier than May 2024.

Ranking Criteria:

Admissions through DASA mode for 2026-27 will be through SAT scores. The primary ranking criterion is the total SAT score. All applicants will be ranked based on this total marks first. In the case of a tie in total marks, the following marks (in the given order) will be used to resolve the same.
  • Evidence based Reading and Writing (SAT)
  • Maths (SAT)
Students tied even after the above will be given the same rank and treated on par.

While applying, you are advised to choose only the programmes you are willing to join, if allotted, in the branch preference list. If you do not take up an allotted seat, you are denying that seat to another student!
So, if you are interested in only one programme, say, ECE (B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering) and no other programme of the Institute, you should give ECE as your first preference on the application portal and nil for others. If you are keen only on a few programmes of the Institute, give the preference order only among those.
Applicants will be required to upload final/board exam marks when available for classes XI and XII, showing marks for Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

The cancellation deadlines for the round when an applicant was offered a seat for the first time and accepted will determine the refund amount in case of seat cancellation. This is regardless of whether (a) the seat offered and accepted for the first time was in a programme of highest preference of the applicant or, (b) there was an upgrade in a later round, to a seat in a programme of higher preference of the applicant.
Refund Illustration:
1. Suppose an applicant’s program preferences are [A, B, C] in that order.
2. Suppose the applicant did not get a seat in Round 1.
3. Suppose the applicant gets a seat in Program B in Round 2 and accepts it. Then, cancellations dates and refund amounts of Round 2 will apply to the applicant.
4. Suppose the applicant gets an upgrade offer to Program A in Round 3 and accepts it. Still, the cancellations dates and refund amounts of Round 2 will continue to apply to the applicant.
5. In case the applicant cancels the seat, the refund amount is as mentioned for Round 2 (and not Round 3), as on the date of cancellation.
Note:
  • The institute reserves the right to conduct more or less rounds of seat allocation than listed above based on the available seats and the number of acceptances after a round.
  • If a candidate fails to meet the eligibility criteria mentioned above, the candidate becomes ineligible and his/her application will not be considered for admissions.
  • The tuition fee is payable in INR only and all applicable refunds will be processed in INR only. The USD conversion rate is 96.50 INR per USD.
