B.Tech. (Hons.) in Computer Science and M.S. in Geospatial Technology by Research (CGD) (5 Years Program)
About the Programme: Spatial Informatics or Geospatial Technology is an emerging discipline that integrates the strengths and progress in the IT fields related to the spatio-temporal domains and builds domain expertise and applications in the various disciplines, ranging from the Natural and Climatic to Social Sciences. Its broad scope covers the areas of GI Science, Systems and Services. This field of study is enriched by learning and research in both Application domains ranging from geography to location-based services, agricultural sciences to climate-environmental sciences, and the advances in Computer Sciences leading to emerging areas of advanced Satellite data processing, GeoAI, Spatial Data Science, Geovisualization, GeoBI, Digital twins, and improved navigational systems. This Dual degree aims at developing competent and creative professionals to address the technological developments of Geospatial science and technology and invites those interested in such multi-disciplinary studies and research.
Objectives of the Programme: The Dual-degree program aims to prepare students:
- for becoming experts and professionals who would be equipped with the knowledge to steer the Geospatial industry.
- who can inculcate spatial thinking and spatial-temporal analysis to address complex problems across multiple disciplines using the right set of computing and geospatial knowledge.
- who will be instrumental in developing cutting-edge technologies in these areas of disciplinary overlap and intersection.
